About:

I consider this my main project and alias. As Approaching Mountains, I create atmospheric music; sometimes noisy, sometimes soft, frequently experimental.

You can call this ambient music, but I'm striving to make it more engaging and interesting to listen to -- music that's more than "as ignorable as it is interesting"*. Because there are many projects like that, just visit Bandcamp - the center of all things ambient. Honestly the lack** of music that has the atmospheric characteristics of ambient but tries to achieve more is one of the reasons why I started this project.

This project came to be when I was finishing "Col". The original plan was to release it under my previous moniker Quiet Quiet, but I decided I wanted a fresh start under a new name. My friend Domas (with whom I later started Dangaus Čiabuvis) came up with the name after I told him that I wanted a name that sounded "big, moving and natural". Coincidentally, I later noticed that AM are my initials, so I guess the name does mean something.
